Texas Nameplate Company, Inc., is a small, privately held family business that manufactures high quality nameplates, identification tags, name plate tag, custom labels for high-pressure valves, oil field equipment, and other industrial products. Texas Nameplate offers chemical etching, screen printing, and metalphoto sensitive processes which are suitable for stainless steel, polycarbonate and polyester based material. By using these processes and materials nameplates are manufactured. Texas Nameplate is known as the expert in "harsh-enviroment" metallic nameplates for products that operate in rugged locations or under extreme conditions. Texas Nameplate is the smallest business to receive the Malcolm Baldrige National Award, and the only small business to have received the award twice - in 1998 and 2004.

Our Employees

TNC employees represent the diversity of the Dallas-Fort Worth metroplex. A non-unionized company, we are a closely knit organization of 40+ employees. We encourage excellent internal communications and a strong sense of personal ownership in the processes and quality outcome of our products. In fact, our employees have embraced the quality and technology improvements that have made Texas Nameplate a Baldrige award winner and the recipient of top customer satisfaction marks.

Our History

World War II brought a demand for military defense equipment such as tanks, trucks, airplanes, boats, artillery, and other heavy equipment. All of these items required identification and information plates that would withstand adverse conditions on land, sea, and in the air. The need for a manufacturer of durable metal nameplates was born when a photo engraving company was recruited by the War Department to produce etched metal nameplates for the many companies involved in the war effort.

In 1946 after the war was over, Wallace Steineger, Tom Hampton, and Roy Crownover chartered and began operations of Texas Nameplate Company,Inc. The company has grown from those three employees to over 100 in the 1980s.

Today, thanks to new equipment, new techniques, and an excellent quality control program, Texas Nameplate's employees are producing more quality products than ever before.
